Beach shots from North and South Carolina beaches Photos and Text by John Myers Internet Photojournalist
This second shot of the same scene is a good example of sticking around to see what happens after sunrise. The sun finally broke through on that morning at Beaufort, and reflected in the water as it climbed past the horizon. As the sun rose, I began shooting up and down the f-stop scale, which is known as "bracketing" the exposure. By shooting up and down the f-stop scale, a down-stopped exposure created this dark and gloomy – yet dramatic and upbeat shot – with the brilliant sun breaking through the clouds and reflecting on the water.
